Texas SPCA Spends Nearly $ 500,000 For Animal Care At Dallas Fur Ball

What: Fur Ball to Benefit the Texas SPCA

Or: Hyatt Regency Dallas

The 411: Dallas-Fort Worth animal lovers gathered at the Hyatt Regency Dallas on Saturday, October 2 to salute the bond between humans and pets – and raise money for a good cause. Fur Ball’s product helps the Texas SPCA, North Texas’s premier animal welfare agency, continue to save, care for and find homes for thousands of animals in the community.

Fur ball chairs Hiren and Dhruva Patel and president of the welcoming committee Rebecca Marabito greeted guests in a space dazzled by the SPCA’s signature purple, with decor featuring bright, cheerful photos and heartfelt stories about the animals the organization recently helped.

Customers snuggled up against adorable puppies, sipped signature Purple Pooch and Pink Rabbit cocktails, and browsed silent auction items hosted by Amber and Anthony Sims, which included travel, jewelry and – what else? – beds for dazzled dogs.

During a dinner consisting of a small grilled sirloin steak and a roast chicken with pesto, the master of ceremonies Brian curtis, auctioneer Grant Snyder, president of the SPCA Karen Fröhlich, and special guests (both two-legged and four-legged) ignited the crowd for the cause. They did a really good job as the guests were bidding fast and furiously in a live auction.

In closing, an anonymous donor challenged everyone to donate to a “Pony Up for Paws” fundraising campaign, and they matched their donations two to one, up to $ 50,000.

In all, an impressive sum of $ 490,000 was raised for the Texas SPCA.

To celebrate, guests danced the night away to high-voltage tunes provided by DJ LC.
