New Energy Company Offers Customers Pet Care Benefits
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In a deregulated energy market where there are many options, a new energy company is launching in Texas. However, there are benefits to signing up with Good Energy Charlie.
Good Charlie is an energy provider that will support your home and your dogs.
“I found that Texas kills more dogs than any other state. And that has to change,” said Daryl Lawrence, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Good Charlie.
Lawrence said he’s been in the energy business his entire career.
What he lacked was innovation and he thinks energy companies should do more to support local communities.
“Good Charlie is completely different from a traditional energy supplier,” he said. “We really try to give back to local communities, support small businesses and empower local entrepreneurs by getting them to help us in our cause, which is to make Texas the best place for a dog to live.
As a Good Charlie customer, you benefit from advantages for your pack. They receive 24/7 video veterinary services and $750 in emergency veterinary care.
“And most importantly, we round up every customer’s bill every month, every time,” Lawrence said. “So proceeds and donations primarily go to nonprofit charities, such as Houston Pets Alive and Dallas Pets Alive, which champion animal welfare across the state of Texas.”
“Well, I was really surprised to learn that Good Charlie was going to make it his mission to help dogs in Texas,” Marilyn Litt said. “And they’re going to be a partner with us, which we’re really excited about.”
Litt is the director of Lost Dogs of Texas. It is a non-profit organization in Corpus Christi that helps people find their lost dogs, through leaflets and microchips, or they help return found dogs.
To like Texas Lost Dogsnonprofits across the state will receive financial support from Good Charlie Energy.
Lawrence said the company was called Good Charlie because it’s the people who give their all to help dogs.
“I call a Bon Charlie these people who give up their weekends, who give up their homes, who will take in these strays,” Lawrence said. “Who will feed them and who will basically pay every penny to make sure that that puppy that they found, or that lost dog, or that dog that needs a sanctuary or forever home, they They will provide for them, they will love them, they will care for them.”
Good Charlie focuses on rescuing strays and dogs in shelters. According to PetPediaTexas has the most dog euthanasia in the country.
And with the heat, there is more to fear for stray animals.
“They’re also going to educate people about the dangers of the heat,” Litt said. “For example, you think ‘it’s really hot, I better be careful to get water for my dog.’ But you also need to put your hand on the concrete and on the street to see if it might be too hot for your dog’s paws.
Good Charlie is set to go live on Saturday.
Before that, they organize a free contest. First place wins a year of free electricity plus perks. Second place wins a 30-minute photo shoot with their dog. Third place wins a year’s supply of dog treats from a local Texas company that makes treats.
