Indy Animal Care Services Hosts Saturday ‘Kitten Shower’ – WISH-TV | Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Anyone interested in fostering a kitten for Indianapolis Animal Care Services is invited to a Saturday afternoon “kitten shower” at the shelter.

The purpose of the Kitten Shower is to encourage animal lovers to adopt kittens.

Each year during the warmer months, IACS sees a significant increase in the number of pregnant cats, mother cats with kittens and litters of kittens entering the shelter.

Foster homes not only help keep kittens healthy, but they also help with socialization so the kitten will be prepared for their new home once they can be adopted.

The kitten shower will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Indy ACS South Harding Street Shelter.

Participants will learn about the IACS foster program, what it takes to be a foster home and caring for bottle foster homes. Current foster parents will be in the shower to share their experiences and offer advice.

Anyone who attends the shower will also receive a door prize ticket to participate in a giveaway and more tickets can be won by bringing in donations. Prizes include restaurant gift cards, a cat grooming package, a cat hammock and more.

Indy ACS also accepts donations to its Amazon Wish List. The most necessary items for kittens include pet bottles, wet and dry kitten food, and pine/paper litter.
