Corpus Christi Animal Care Services is set to hold an open house for volunteers on February 26

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Animal Care Services is hosting a Volunteer Open House on Saturday, February 26.

The community will have the opportunity to learn how to apply to volunteer and why it is so important to the City of Corpus Christi.

CC Animal Services staff advise that this event has limited availability. To attend the Open House, please register by emailing [email protected]

“Applicants must be 18 or older to volunteer alone. Younger applicants must be 14. Minors must also be accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times,” CC Animal Services staff said.

All parents or guardians must submit a volunteer application. Officials say all applicants are subject to a background check in order to be approved to volunteer with animal care services.

Face masks and social distancing are encouraged to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services say they also need foster families.

“We would love to be able to engage with more of our citizens to help care for homeless pets in our area. If you are unable to adopt, but would like to help, even on a short-term basis, please consider becoming foster family,” says CC Animal Care Services officials.

If you would like to encourage furry friends from Corpus Christi Animal Care Services, please contact their livestream team at 361-826-4606 or email [email protected] for more information.
