Animal care services encourage residents to adopt

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If residents are looking for a new pet, Corpus Christi Animal Care Services workers have plenty of pets in need of loving homes.

The Summer Pawlooza event runs throughout the week, which means adoption fees are waived.

The shelter has also extended its hours of operation to give residents who work late a chance to adopt.

“We actually had an adoption earlier this afternoon straight out of the playgroup, he’s been waiting for a home since March,” ACS’s Mia Burbage said. “So he had been with us for quite a while. The family saw him playing with the other dogs and they just came over and decided he was their family dog. We have dogs that have been with us for a long time. January or February. , we really hope they find their forever home as well.”

The event is a good way for animals in need to find good homes. For more information about the event, click here.
