About the role

This is an exciting role within the Animal Care department of TEC Partnerships to program our animal management program. The role will be primarily focused on leading our higher education programs (level 4 to 6) in animal management. We recently expanded our higher education animal management offering and have a long-term vision to continue to develop and expand the program we offer. The position could also include aspects of providing continuing education depending on specialties and requirements. includes the following responsibilities:

Design, management and implementation of exciting and innovative programs
Coordinate program module tutors and program-level meetings, including course and at-risk
Preparation for the session and exceptional delivery of teaching, learning and assessment.
Support the delivery of a high quality learning experience at all stages of the learning journey
Manage learner cohorts and track each learner’s progress towards success
Identify and coordinate support to meet individual student needs
Manage the recruitment of learners into appropriate programs and levels of study.

About the person

The skills, experience and qualifications we are looking for for this position include:

Relevant post-graduate degree in animal care/management or related discipline
A minimum of Level 3 qualification in teaching and education
PGCE or working towards is desirable
Level 2/GCSE (Level 4 or above/equivalent) in Maths and English.
Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of degree programs in higher education and/or continuing education
Experience in animal management research is desirable but not essential.

An interest, experience or relevant qualification in all or some of the following subjects would be desirable:

Zoo management
Animal health and welfare
Animal handling
animal behavior
Animal Feed / Nutrition
Management of animal housing
Genetics, evolution and animal adaptations
Animal training
Wildlife Conservation
